Michael Vick Injury: X-Rays Negative on Ribs

Michael Vick Injury Update Comes Back Negative

X-Rays have revealed no broken ribs for quarterback Michael Vick of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Vick was hit hard by two Washington defenders in the first quarter and left the game. He was taken back to the locker room for further evaluation and replaced by Kevin Kolb.

Washington went on to win the game 17-12 in Donovan McNabb's return to Philadelphia following an offseason trade.

The Redskins were ahead 14-0 when the injury occurred.

Michael Vick’s injury update came back negative during X-rays Sunday. Michael Vick’s injury will be fully known after Monday’s MRI testing. The injury location was initially not confirmed by team officials. Early speculation claimed it was a hairline collarbone fracture. That speculation may not be inaccurate per Sunday x-ray results.

Michael Vick’s injuries are believed to be both to rib and chest. Yet initial x-rays taken Sunday to both regions came back negative, said a team insider to NFL News’ Jason La Canfora. But something is definitely wrong in the region. One source inside the locke rroom, Ashley Fox, updated tonight “In the locker room, Vick really struggled getting his right arm into his dress shirt. He’ll have an MRI tomorrow. He wasn’t talking.”

On Sunday, Vick went 5 for 7 delivering 49 passing yards. Vick also rushed 17 yards. Andy Reid in recent weeks has said of Vick “His accelerated play was brilliant. This is what I think is right. He’s back and maybe even a little better.”

The Redskins eventually won the game 17-12 with Donovan McNabb’s first return to Philly since his trade.
