Nick Diaz defends Welterweight title

Nick Diaz defends Welterweight title

Noons faced off in a Strikeforce event on Oct. 9, and Diaz successfully defended his Welterweight title through the five-round match.

Diaz, a 27-year-old American MMA fighter who trains under Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Cesar Gracie in Pleasant Hill California, was the judges’ unanimous choice for the win.

After the fight Noons admitted that he had been beaten fair and square after being taken down to the mat in round one and was consistently outscored by Diaz.

Noons ended the match with a broken jaw.

The win was a bit of revenge for Diaz, who lost to Noons in 2070.
