TJ Lavin the MTV host and professional BMX rider got into a bike accident and suffered serious injuries. The rider failed to land a stunt during a bike show in Las Vegas on Thursday. The good news is that his condition is improving.
TJ Lavin was making a bike stunt at the Dew Tour Championships last week. According to the doctors, the rider suffered from pneumonia which is a condition common among patients that are breathing through tubes. But he is not likely to have any brain damage, People.com reported.
The 33-year-old “Real World/Road Rules Challenge” host was admitted at the Las Vegas’ University Medical Center and is now in a medically-induced coma. He has an orbital fracture on his eye and a fractured right wrist.
Lavin tried to do a “nac nac” jump and wasn’t able to get his feet back on the pedals before landing. That caused him a shattered wrist that will be operated when he recovers from the pneumonia and after he recovers from the coma his condition will be known for sure.
According to Lavin’s manager, Chas Aday, his breathing tube may even be removed by the end of the week when he might even come back out of the coma. If his body responds well to the antibiotics, the 33-year-old rider might be home soon enough to enjoy a Halloween party.
