In the Michigan vs Indiana game today, the Wolverine quarterback Denard Robinson ran the winning touchdown into the end zone with only 17 seconds left in the game. It was a fitting end to a game in which Michigan and Indiana had traded the lead back and forth so many times it was starting to feel like a basketball game. Then, with the game tied up at 35 points each, the Wolverines lined up on their 27 yard line and executed a series of plays in under a minute. Robinson rushed the ball three times for a gain of 37 total, then passed to Junior Hemingway for another 42 yards. A timeout was then called as they line up on Indiana’s 4-yard line. When the ball snapped, Robinson ran toward the middle, saw an opening and ran it to the end zone for a game-winning touchdown. Michigan’s punt got Indiana to their own 35-yard line, but they were unable to use the remaining 17 seconds in the game to their advantage. Michigan won 42 to 35.
