Actress Ricki Lake is lucky to be alive after she managed to escape from her burning home this morning.
The talkshow host, turned actress was trying to refuel a portable heater when things went wrong and her rented house caught on fire.
A couch caught on fire and before long, the entire living room was in flames, forcing Lake, 41, to have to escape.
Police were forced to close down sections of the Pacific Coast Highway as flames rose up to 30 feet in the air.
Lake was able to escape and avoid injury with her three sons; Milo, 13, Owen, nine and their pet dog.
