If all goes well, Lady Gaga will be the main story at the VMA Awards 2010, as the performer has 13 nominations. Lady Gaga‘s high number of VMA award nominations is actually a show record.
In at least one category, Lady Gaga will be in the running against herself for a VMA award -- for video of the year, “Bad Romance” and “Telephone” (ft. Beyonce), are both nominated. This is the first time a female artist has been nominated for two videos in one year. Lady Gaga is also in the running for the best pop video VMA award, best collaboration, best editing and a handful of others. Lady Gaga kicked off her big night at the MTV Video Music Awards in refined style: she wore the same red and gold Alexander McQueen gown that she sported in her recent Vanity Fair shoot, topped off with a mohawk made of feathers. Gaga’s up for a record 13 Moonmen at the show — which means we’re in for a potential record number of costume changes.
