2011 Presidencial Elections: Ribadu, Fashola tipped as running mate, Buhari now set to endorse Buhari set to endorse Ribadu, Fashola tipped as running mate

The president is elected by the people. The National Assembly has two chambers. The House of Representatives has 360 members, elected for a four year term in single-seat constituencies.
In a surprising move, which is sure to send jitters through the spine of the ruling party, former President and two time Presidential candidate of the ANPP Gen.

Elections in Nigeria are democratic forms of choosing representatives to the Nigerian federal government and the various states in Nigeria.

An overview of the election:

SYSTEM: Under Nigeria's U.S.-style federal constitution, the president and 36 state governors are elected directly for a four-year term and a maximum of two terms. President Olusegun Obasanjo and most of the state governors must step down because they have served two terms.

The electoral body has hired about 500,000 ad-hoc staff to oversee the voting.
