Nokia: Nokia and Microsoft today announced a partnership to challenge Apple and Google in the fast-growing smartphone market as the Finnish mobile maker is seeing its dominant position in the industry under threat from the resurgent Apple in particular.

Nokia said it would use Windows Phone as the software platform for its smartphones as part of new chief executive Stephen Elop's restructuring of the company that accounts for more than 30% of hand phone sales.
