Super Bowl XLV 2011 : Christina Aguilera flubs National Anthem(Video)

Christina Aguilera made an astonishing gaffe by botching the lyrics to the American National Anthem as she kicked off the Super Bowl on Sunday night.she probably shouldn't have. Yes, Aguilera messed up the lyrics to "The Star-Spangled Banner," singing "what so proudly we watched, at the twilight's last reaming" instead of the correct words, "o'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming."

Aguilera, who is 30 years old, originally appeared on national television in 1990, as a contestant on Star Search, before going on to star on The Mickey Mouse Club. She has released six studio albums, two of which went No. 1 in the United States, and has sold over 46 million albums worldwide.

Rather than singing "O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming," Auilera instead mashed it up with an earlier line so that it came out as: "What so proudly we watched at the twilight's last reaming."

Messing with the national anthem is no laughing matter – just ask Rosanne Barr, who caused national uproar with a ghastly version she performed before a baseball game in 1990 and has never been able to live it down.
