This year however, Chris Brown lead the pack with 6 nominations and has won big thus far at the 2011 BET Awards. Brown’s first award came for Best Male R&B. Later Chris Brown bested huge acts such as Kanye West and Rihanna to win the Best Collaboration.

Esperanza Spalding received the Grammy Award for Best New Artist over the more popular Justin Bieber and Drake.
A 26-year-old native of Portland, Spalding edged out the baby-faced Bieber and Toronto rapper Drake for her first Grammy Award.The Grammy Awards, which telecast on CBS, Sunday at 8 p.m. EST and 5 p.m. PST, are considered the most prestigious award of the American recording industry.
