Wild Elephants killed A Man On Road In India : Shocking Video

Two wild elephants went on a rampage in a southern Indian city, causing pandemonium and killing at least one resident.

New Delhi Television news channel aired footage Wednesday showing the body of a man at the feet of one of the animals in the city of Mysore in Karnataka state. An elephant also kicked a cow.

One of the elephants charged into a cow and smashed a car before goring and trampling a security guard to death in Mysore, Karnataka state.

Local people managed to trap one of the animals inside a farm and tranquilize the other.Several people were injured by the stampeding animals, which locals said were provoked into a frenzy by terrified townspeople throwing stones at the animal.

SA Ramdas, higher education minister, said that schools were closed on Wednesday and extra police had been deployed as a precaution.

Hundreds of people die in India every year when wild animals wander into cities as their habitats shrink and they have to range farther for food.

A toddler born with eight limbs and believed by some to be the reincarnation of the multi-limbed Hindu goddess Vishnu, is set to undergo a 40-hour operation to remove half of her limbs.

Lakshmi Tatma was born joined to a 'parasitic twin' and will go under the knife at the hands of 30 surgeons to remove two of her useless arms and legs. The headless 'twin' is joined to Lakshmi at the pelvis and has its own spinal column and kidney.

Without the operation the little girl would never be able to walk or crawl and would be unlikely to live past her early teens, doctors said. The extraordinary eight-limbed baby was born in a poverty-stricken region of Bihar, India - on the day devoted to the celebration of the four-armed Hindu deity Vishnu. Her mother Poonam Tatma said she believed her daughter was "a miracle, a reincarnation" of Vishnu.

'Cyclops Baby' With 1 Eye and No Nose Born in India,See Pics

A baby boy with one eye in the center of his forehead and no nose was born in India last week. He survived only one day.Doctors were shocked when they delivered the infant by cesarean section from the 34-year-old mother, Veena Chavan.

A sonogram during Chavan's 32nd week of pregnancy revealed the baby was hydrocephalic, meaning water was accumulating on his brain. According to the doctor's report, medical staff wanted to perform an intrauterine shunting procedure but could not because of the advanced stage of her term.

India saw another cyclopic baby born in the city of Chennai. The baby girl survived and was taken home by her parents. No recent reports offer any further information about her survival.

A year earlier, a one-eyed baby girl was born prematurely in Russia but died almost immediately after being delivered.

Reports claimed her head, shoulders and back were covered with thick hair and a "small trunk" was growing above her eye.
