It’s that time of year when the major music festivals start to announce their lineups, and Lollapalooza has added to list with an early leak of their headliners. The full lineup won’t be announced until April, but according to the Chicago Tribune it has been confirmed by industry insiders that Eminem, Foo Fighters and Muse will headline the 2011 festival.Lollapalooza is an annual music festival featuring popular heavy metal, alternative rock, hip hop, and punk rock bands, dance and comedy performances, and craft booths.It has also provided a platform for non-profit and political groups.Lollapalooza has featured a diverse range of bands and has helped expose and popularize alternative rock groups such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Primus, Rage Against the Machine, Nine Inch Nails, Jane’s Addiction, Soundgarden, Siouxsie & the Banshees, The Smashing Pumpkins, Muse, Alice in Chains, Tool, Hole, 30 Seconds to Mars, The Strokes, Lady Gaga, and Green Day.
The Chicago Tribune spilled the beans and announced the headliners for Lollapalooza 2011. It has been confirmed that Eminem, Muse and Foo Fighters will be in the top 3 spots when they announce the lineup in April. Foo Fighters eh..but Eminem and Muse is good shit.Rumors are also already circulating concerning the rest of the 2011 Lollapalooza lineup, with Lykke Li and Best Coast seeming likely bets (they’ll also be at Sasquatch, and are certain to be hitting many of the festivals this year). Crystal Castles, Jonsi and Girl Talk are also rumored to play.
