"Judas," the second single from Lady Gaga's upcoming album Born This Way, leaked online today. (The song was originally scheduled to debut on Tuesday.) Though some of the songs we've heard from Gaga's new album find her embracing bombastic Eighties rock and early Nineties house music, "Judas" is a straight-ahead dance pop number that plays to the singer's established strengths.
The eccentric singer was scheduled to release 'Judas', the second single from her upcoming album 'Born This Way' on Tuesday 19 April, but had to rush release it last Friday after an unofficial version appeared on the internet.
'Judas' made it's way onto the web after an English radio station played the track ahead of it's release date.GaGa's fast-paced new single has heavy electro-beats and a familiar tempo that will most likely be the signature sound of her new album "Born This Way." It's clearly meant to get you on your feet and dance.
Lady Gaga's record label moved quickly to counteract the leak by moving the song's official premiere date by 4 days and releasing it on iTunes earlier than planned.
Album leaks are becoming standard fare nowadays. Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy leaked a few months ago, and The National’s new disc, High Violet, popped up online early as well.
The band got creative after the leak, premiering a high-quality, advance stream of the disc on The New York Times’s website.
Take a listen to the song below and let us know what you think. According to MTV, the jam depicts Gaga’s version of the Bible and is accompanied by what will likely be another controversial video.Gaga’s last single, “Born This Way,” is the fastest-selling single to grace Apple’s iTunes store worldwide, so we wonder how this new tune will fare.
